| “SoftSand.com” is the internet domain and brand-recognized
name of “Sandage and Associates”, an association of computer professionals
offering custom office automation solutions for a wide variety of
businesses. John Sandage founded the company in 1990 after working as
a programming manager for other software development firms. |

At that time, the company was focused on
developing database and accounting software using the popular “Clipper”
development language. In 1997 Sandage developed the “CodeBase
Components”, a programming library encapsulating Sequiter Software’s
award-winning CodeBase Database Engine into a series of drag-and-drop
programming components to be integrated directly into Borland’s premičre
Windows development environments. An alliance was then formed between
Sequiter and SoftSand that is still enjoyed today. At that time,
SoftSand also became a “Borland Technology Partner” and is recognized as the
leading provider of Borland/CodeBase integration tools.
Using the developed Borland/CodeBase technology, Sandage then turned the
company’s focus back to developing end-user applications. Having a forte
in double-entry accounting practices, the “SoftSand Accounting Series” was
developed. This modular accounting system forms a standardized platform
from which customized accounting solutions can be developed.
